Masraff vs Alaan — one platform for Turkish operations and their GCC subsidiaries

Alaan leads UAE and KSA spend management with a bilingual EN + AR interface and an AED-priced, card-first model. Masraff serves the harder problem: Turkish holdings whose Dubai or Riyadh subsidiaries also require spend management — TR + EN + AR on one platform, with native e-Invoice (e-Fatura) support and ZATCA Phase 2 readiness.

Modul jikme-jiklikleri

Use your existing card or rely on Alaan's

Alaan issues physical and virtual SuperCard® cards via NymCard. Masraff does not bind you to a single card issuer — keep your existing corporate card and let Statement Reconciliation match transactions automatically.

Receive invoices, don't issue them

Alaan SuperPay™ sends supplier payments outbound — competitive FX, batch processing and global rails. Masraff goes the other way: scan the supplier's Turkish e-Invoice (e-Fatura) QR and convert it into an expense. VAT, supplier, non-deductible expense (KKEG) status and the ERP entry are recorded in one step, with five providers connected (Doğan, eLogo, Mikro, QnB eFinans, Sovos). For Turkey-anchored operations, the inbound side is the harder problem.

Spend management with a complete advance lifecycle

Alaan Spend Management covers policy, budget and approval. Masraff adds a complete advance lifecycle with 13 transaction types, balance carryover between advances and the advance-and-offset chain — including domestic, international and business-trip subtypes.

Accounting automation with native Turkish ERPs

Alaan exports to 7 generic ERPs. Masraff exports natively to 20+ ERPs including 4 Logo and 3 Mikro variants — pre-mapped templates, no manual column alignment.

One platform across Turkey, the GCC and the EU

Turkish holdings with Dubai or Riyadh subsidiaries face a real cross-border problem. Alaan covers the UAE and KSA half. Masraff covers the full picture: Turkish HQ on Logo or Mikro with e-Invoice (e-Fatura); UAE branch with AED billing and an Arabic UI; KSA branch with ZATCA Phase 2 readiness and SAR billing. One vendor, one dashboard, three regulatory regimes.

Masraff-yň öňde durýan ýerleri

Capabilities Alaan does not provide — either because they sit outside its UAE and KSA-anchored scope, or because Alaan's card-and-payments framing never built them.

Statement-expense matching in the Masraff app. People, merchants and amounts are sample data.
  • TR + AR + EN plus 16 additional locales

19 locales with full RTL, Cyrillic and Latin coverage — Turkey, the GCC, Central Asia and the EU on one platform.

  • e-Invoice (e-Fatura) module with 5 Turkish providers

The only GİB-compliant e-Invoice QR scanner in Turkey. Native sync with Doğan, eLogo, Mikro, QnB eFinans and Sovos. 13 invoice statuses. Manual UBL XML import.

  • 20+ ERPs versus Alaan's 7 (roughly three times the catalogue)

4 SAP, 4 Logo and 3 Mikro variants, Oracle (EBS, Fusion, NetSuite), MS Dynamics AX, Luca, Orka, EBA and Nebim. Account-code templates with 28+ part types.

  • Six non-deductible expense (KKEG) types with four control modes

Vehicle 30% non-deductible, lease cap, alcohol and tobacco, meal cards, credit-card slips, taxi POS and documents with no fiscal value — automatically routed to the correct ERP account.

  • Withholding tax, reverse-charge VAT and VAT splits

Three Turkish tax behaviours Alaan's VAT support does not model: withholding (Stopaj), reverse-charge VAT (SSKDV) and per-expense VAT deduction.

  • ZATCA Phase 2 readiness (Saudi Arabia)

A Saudi-first roadmap alongside Turkish e-Invoice support. Alaan's Saudi messaging remains partial.

  • Travel Module with passport, visa and driving-licence tracking, four cabin classes and dual hotels

Alaan does not ship a Travel module. Masraff covers passport (number, expiry, file), visa (country, start date), driving licence (number, class, location), four cabin classes, dual-hotel support, conflicting-trip prevention and travel-agency email integration via five reference lists.

  • Advance Module with full audit history

13 transaction types, balance carryover between advances, blocked balances for pending approvals, city-specific advances and multi-currency display. Hajj, Umrah and business-trip advance subtypes are configurable.

  • UPS Shipping Module

A standalone shipping-expense module integrated with the UPS API — sender and recipient address hierarchy, barcode and tracking, five auth types and up to 10 reports per shipment. Outside Alaan's product scope.

  • Delegation System

Time-bounded or open-ended delegation, complete activity log, multiple delegates and a Switch Account UX. Critical for GCC public-holiday, Ramadan and Hajj coverage.

  • Masraff Assistant, live A/B testing of AI models and category prediction

Auto-suggests report groupings by frequency and property type. New AI models run in parallel against live traffic before rollout. One to three category suggestions appear on entry. Parity with Alaan Intelligence, with the added discipline of testing before release.

  • Composite, brick and product-level expense splits

An IT team's expenses split automatically across four cost centres — define the rule once. Brick splits (FMCG and retail), product splits and custom-product-field splits are not representable in Alaan's flat expense model.

  • Grade-based approval, a scalable workflow engine and 9 user roles

Position-level dynamic chains. The workflow engine handles intermediate approvers, department, sub-company and tag-based routing, threshold escalation and 48 distinct activity-log action types.

  • Custom PDF builder (3 engines, 6 PDF types, 80+ field codes, bilingual TR and EN)

Drag-and-drop PDF structure builder — 6 PDF types, 11 structure blocks and 80+ field codes.

  • Six-step onboarding wizard with Excel templates

Organisation, User, Category, Tag, Integration and Accounting — each step ships with a downloadable Excel template, bulk import and an optional welcome email.

  • Multi-company structure: company groups and many-to-many sub-companies

Logical company grouping for holdings, one user across multiple sub-companies and a per-tenant subdomain.

  • Mileage with UTTS fuel and per-diem with city-specific limits

Origin and destination, kilometre × rate, GPS-based mobile tracking, UTTS (Turkey's National Vehicle ID System) for automatic fuel-expense flow and per-diem with city-specific limits.

  • Huawei AppGallery distribution

Apple, Google and Huawei — full ecosystem coverage including Turkish and GCC Huawei users.

Honest gaps. These are Alaan's strengths Masraff does not replicate.

Dogruçyl kemçilik

Native UAE card issuance via NymCard

Alaan ships physical and virtual SuperCard® cards today through its NymCard partnership. Masraff operates on a Bring Your Own Card (BYOC) model with Statement Reconciliation; Mastercard issuance is on the product roadmap. If UAE-issued cards are required now, Alaan is the better fit.

Dogruçyl kemçilik

Money-transfer corridor pages (remittance)

Alaan added remittance corridors (UAE to the UK, USA, India, Pakistan and others) as a B2C-leaning growth channel. Masraff is strictly B2B finance and does not serve the remittance trade.

AED 499 "Limited Time Free" Premium promo

Alaan currently anchors its AED 499 Premium plan with a "Limited Time Free" offer. Masraff does not run free-promo pricing; pricing is module-based and transparent.

Ýygy soralýan soraglar

Ýygy-ýygydan berilýän soraglar

Can Masraff replace Alaan for UAE operations?

If NymCard-issued physical or virtual cards are required today, Alaan is the better fit. If Bring Your Own Card with an existing UAE bank corporate card is acceptable, Masraff handles the rest — spend management, AED billing, an Arabic UI and ZATCA Phase 2 readiness on expansion to KSA.

Is the Arabic UI fully supported, including RTL?

Yes. Masraff ships 19 locales including ar-AE and ar-SA, with full RTL CSS and the Tajawal font family — the same surface area as Alaan.

Can one company run a Turkish HQ and a Dubai subsidiary on Masraff?

Yes. Multi-entity setup is supported via the Multi-entity Organization model, with per-entity policy, approval and reporting plus a consolidated multi-currency view. Turkish HQ on Logo and UAE branch on QuickBooks share one dashboard.

Is Masraff ZATCA Phase 2 compliant for Saudi Arabia?

ZATCA Phase 2 is a priority on the Saudi roadmap. Compare directly with Alaan's partial ZATCA messaging.

How are Hajj and Umrah travel expenses handled?

The Travel Module and Advance Module together handle seasonal corporate-religious travel as a per-diem-style workflow. A custom advance subtype is configurable.
