Masraff, which operates in artificial intelligence-powered spend management, has been selected as one of the 22 companies in the first cohort of the Start Path Agentic Commerce & Services program, which Mastercard runs worldwide.

Masraff has been selected as one of the 22 companies in the first cohort of the Start Path Agentic Commerce & Services program launched by Mastercard. Focused on the more autonomous use of artificial intelligence agents in payments and financial services, the global program supports the development and scaling of next-generation agentic solutions.

Masraff's selection for the program is an important step in taking the capabilities the company has built in corporate spend management, with its artificial intelligence-powered and agent-based approach to finance, further within the global payments and financial technology ecosystem.

From Corporate Spend Management to Agentic Finance

Masraff, which set out in 2017 with the digital management of employee expenses, today brings expense, travel, advance, corporate credit card and invoice management together on a single management platform. Masraff helps finance teams achieve greater visibility, control and operational efficiency in their spend operations.

With Masraff's artificial intelligence-powered infrastructure, companies can process spend data automatically, check compliance with spend policies more effectively, speed up approval and finance operations, and reduce the manual workload. Turning spend data into more meaningful financial insights is also among the capabilities this structure offers.

Masraff's relationship with Mastercard began when it was named the winner of the Mastercard Lighthouse Türkiye program for 2024-2025, and then extended to the global Mastercard Start Path ecosystem.

During this period, Masraff was selected for the Start Path Corporate Solutions program and advanced its work on corporate finance solutions together with the Mastercard ecosystem.

The corporate spend management solution developed with Mastercard was then made available in Türkiye with NurolBank credit cards.

The new Agentic Commerce & Services program takes this collaboration into a new era, one in which the use cases for artificial intelligence agents in finance and payment operations keep expanding.

How Are Artificial Intelligence Agents Changing Payment and Finance Processes?

Mastercard Start Path has operated since 2014 as a global program that supports technology companies in different countries. The Agentic Commerce & Services program, for its part, focuses on the use cases of artificial intelligence innovation in payments and financial services.

The program focuses on three main areas: agent platforms and agentic infrastructure, agent-native tools and services, and next-generation agentic payment flows.

Artificial intelligence agents go beyond systems that merely present information: they can plan specific tasks, interact with different systems, and take action within defined permissions and rules.

As these agents take on more responsibility in finance and payments, companies are able to manage their operations faster and more autonomously.

Masraff's Agentic Finance Approach

The role of artificial intelligence in finance is moving beyond simply automating repetitive operations. Masraff's Agentic Finance approach treats artificial intelligence not merely as a means of automation, but as a structure that evaluates data, applies rules, identifies exceptions and supports the relevant actions in financial operations.

Under this approach, Masraff is developing autonomous policy audit and approval management, intelligent invoice and expense processing, real-time anomaly detection, continuously learning policy engines, and artificial intelligence capabilities that support cost optimization.

Capabilities such as Spend IQ, Policy IQ, Fraud IQ, Card IQ, Invoice IQ, Travel IQ and Token IQ apply this approach to different finance operations. With Token IQ, companies' spend and transaction data related to their use of artificial intelligence can also be managed through Masraff's corporate spend management platform.

The aim is to reduce the manual workload of finance teams, have data evaluated faster and free up more time for decision-making.

“We are delighted to be part of the Mastercard Start Path ecosystem once again, this time as one of the companies selected for the first cohort of the Agentic Commerce & Services program. We believe the role of artificial intelligence in finance operations is changing rapidly.” — Begül Eray Sezgin, CEO of Masraff

The Mastercard Start Path Agentic Commerce & Services program gives Masraff a new space in which to develop this approach with new use cases in the global payments and financial technology ecosystem.

Masraff Aims to Develop Its Agentic Finance Approach on a Global Scale

Through the program, Masraff aims to draw on Mastercard's global network and payment technology ecosystem to explore new partnerships and product development opportunities, broaden the use cases of its Agentic Finance approach and accelerate its international growth.

The program is expected to help Masraff develop the use cases of artificial intelligence agents in finance operations across different markets and work on new capabilities.

“We are delighted to be part of the Mastercard Start Path ecosystem once again, this time as one of the companies selected for the first cohort of the Agentic Commerce & Services program. We believe the role of artificial intelligence in finance operations is changing rapidly. At Masraff, we aim to take this transformation further: not only making companies' spend processes more visible and controlled, but building a structure in which finance teams get more decision support with fewer manual operations.”
